I have been waiting (literally) for years for Phlock Live to happen. I have said many times how much I love the Phlock community and how much it has helped me to get through so many hiccups! Not only have Laura & Sarah been the first ones to believe in me and to give me the chance to dip my toe into teaching and sharing, but they also welcomed me on their team. And, they also gave me the opportunity to lead my very first photowalk around the streets of Manchester.
Never having been to Manchester before, I made sure to try and have a walk around the day before, so as not to lead my participants astray. What a vibrant city it is though! It has a really lovely and positive vibe, and I really would love to go back there again one day, and take my time to savour the beautiful mix of old and new. Of course, maybe next time I will take the train in as I am still convinced I am anything but a city girl and driving in the traffic made me crazy! But, I digress…
For our photowalk, we focused on taking creative photographs – I packed my bag with crystals, prisms, plastic wrap, aluminium foil, even bubble wrap, and sparkly gold tights!
We walked around and photographed reflections, and pretty much anything we could find, and then returned to the hotel for lunch and the rest of the talks. (Which were just wow by the way and gave me so much to think about!)
I loved having this opportunity, and the experience is one I will never forget. I just want to thank everyone who took part in the walk, and I hope you took something away from it!
